Lorri – Office Manager
I have worked for Dr. Aro for over five years. I have worked in dentistry since 1991. First as chairside assistant, then insurance co-ordination, and from there into front office where everything was still done manually as there were no software programs for dentistry created at that point in time.
My husband and I have been together since 1982: we have one daughter who is now in college and living on her own and we have a chow-chow, Chloe. I am an addicted reader and have been since first grade. My husband and I met teaching ballroom dancing, which we still do occasionally.
What I like best about working for Dr. Aro is his innovative approach to solving patient’s dental needs, that with his incredible skill set, is often “outside the box” in method to achieve the best outcome for each patient. It’s been very exciting and educational to watch procedures being created, planned, then executed on complicated issues in a manner that reflects his personal attention to detail to every individual situation.
My background gives me the ability to explain to patients the why and how of the proposed treatment. I have worked with a multitude of dentists over the years and feel that I have found my “work family” in Aro Dental Practice and I look forward to working with Aro Dental Practice for many years to come (hopefully until I retire!).
Summer – Assistant Office Manager
HI my name is Summer, I am an assistant to our office manager, Lorri, and our treatment plan coordinator and scheduler. I have been with Aro Dental Practice for just over two years. I went school at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria for dental assisting and maintain state licensing even though I prefer the interaction with patients helping them through their treatment plans and seeing them return for maintenance. We have the best work family here at Aro Dental Practice. We enjoy doing team building activities outside of work and at work we all work as a team towards achieving the same goals.
My husband and I live in our home in Grover Beach with our two chiweenies, Buddy and Wally, and our 18-year-old kitty, Charlie. On my down time you will find me in my garden, crafting, hanging out with friends or visiting my family. I can’t wait to meet you!
Crystal – Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
I graduated from Diablo Valley College in 2011 with my Associate of Science degree in dental hygiene. I joined Aro Dental Practice in 2012, and love helping people keep their smiles healthy and beautiful. I love my work family and the way we all work together as a team for a common goal, and I take pride in providing custom care to fit our patients’ individual needs so that they can enjoy optimum oral health and comfort.
My husband and I have two children, one daughter and one son, and a bulldog named Frank. Outside of the office, my hobbies including running half-marathons and lake activities such as wakeboarding and wake surfing.
Marisa – Lead Registered Dental Assistant
I am our lead registered dental assistant and have been with Dr Aro for more than five years. I went to beauty college back in 1995 and received my license but figured out that wasn’t for me. I went to school for dental assisting at Allan Hancock College in 2000 and started working in the dental field right out of school. I appreciate that Dr. Aro is caring about his job and he is always up to date on new equipment. I love that we all work well together as a team and are able to have fun outside of the office hanging out, and I like to make sure patients are taken care of and make sure they are comfortable as possible.
I recently married a wonderful man that is a great supporter in everything I do. I have an amazing daughter who is studying to be an EMT and a wonderful son who will be moving home from Las Vegas to pursue a career as a firefighter at Cuesta College. In my spare time, I like to do crafts and spend time with my husband.
Cherie – Registered Extended Functions Dental Assistant (RDAEF)
I am a registered dental assistant in extended functions. After completing school to become an RDA, I was given the opportunity to advance my career and continue my education in becoming an RDAEF. I was raised here in the central coast and just like many of my patients, I too have chosen to raise my two amazing children, Callie and Caleb, in this beautiful area I am privileged to call my home. I look forward to being a part of restoring your wonderful smiles.
